Kiara’s original clientele was comprised of Japanese jazz singers whom she met during her years managing a famous New York City music venue. After working as a television personality and reporter in Japanese media she was able to branch out to actors as she met a wider array of entertainers.

Her ability to speak Japanese means she can discuss every necessary movement of the lips, every placement of the tongue, every puff of air in any consonant in her students’ native language. By asking a student how they would deliver a line or lyric in Japanese she can paint those feelings and nuances in the right places in their English translations. This ensures her students understand each direction and can express their words in their own way.

She is available for one-on-one lessons, on-set coaching and additional dialogue recordings. While based in New York City she is happy to travel and is available to coach via Skype. Rates vary based on project and student needs.

Kiara has created adjective practice lessons using Pokémon cards for a nine year old student attending school in New York; created mock interview questions for a Japanese chef debuting his restaurant in Brooklyn, NY; and made specialized intonation practice lessons for Japanese actors with a focus on American auditions.

By carefully creating personalized lessons she makes sure that the knowledge gained by her students is relative to their life style and/or careers and successfully captures their interest so that they more easily retain new information.

She is available for one-on-one lessons, ages 6 and up, both in person and virtually. While based in New York City she is happy to travel. Rates vary based on frequency and student needs.
